| subject: | NetComm`s line stats |
BG> Can you have a look at my previous message to David Drummond, BG> re his M34F's signal level stats, and tell me what you think? BG> Given his results, I'm not convinced that the NetComm isn't BG> somehow broken in that regard. Yeah, somethings seriously fucked with the stats in a USR/M34F session. Its far from clear that its actually a Netcomm problem tho when the stats for USR/Hayes etc are ALSO obviously completely fucked. You would really need to have a pair of M34Fs at Daves and a pair of USRs, and see what each pair with common on both ends claims. It would be very interesting in many ways to cart your Sportster round to his place and do a Sportster/Sportster stats on his two lines. Do we know that both his lines are immaculate ? Pity Russ has returned, but if Dave gets the same stats to you at home with both lines, thats probably close enough. Presumably an M34F pair test at Daves is out of the question practically tho. Hard to say what the Dave/Paul stats with M34Fs shows, tho it does look like the M34F stats are fucked. The proof would be to do an M34F pair test on Daves two lines if they are both immaculate, and if the stats are the same as to Paul, clearly the numbers are meaningless. Atleast USR/USR stats do change and do approximately correlate with what you would expect to see. The FNQ/Bulldog, FNQ/Paul and FNQ/You do fit pretty well with You/Paul and Bulldog/Paul etc. I think all we can really conclude currently is that the M34F stats are pretty obviously fucked, but not clear if they are fine with M34F/M34F calls, and not very useful anyway since its really not that sensible to try to turn the full range of params that affect V34 calls into just two numbers anyway. We do however know that Daves BBS line is vastly better than yours. Mainly from the Russ FNQ calls with USR/USR pairs. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 |
