RC> Unfortunately, keeping children out of the labor market
RC> doesn't automatically place them in an education program.
JH>
JH> True, but then the churches would be free to offer a kinder solution.
JH> Back in Puritan colonies, the church _was_ the school.
I am constrained to point out that the Puritan colonies are nearly two and a
half centuries ago.
JH> And it was
JH> seen as a responsibility of the church to provide the poor with an
JH> education.
Like the magnificent job the churches in Europe did for the peasentry during
the Dark Ages?
JH> Now that the government has taken over, we have disjointed
JH> communities and parents who believe that it is the government's
JH> responsibility.

entites before it.

Oh yeah. Two world influencing books have phraseology similar to that...
one which you can find in most every motel room, and one you can find under
Marx in the library.
(For those of you in Rio Linda, the two book in question are the Bible and
Das Kapital.)
