Consider this.
From the book, "Beyond Acts" pp. 26-7
(http://www.sunrise-publications.com/)
"When Moses came down from the "Mountain," after being in
the presence of
God for forty days, his skin was said to shine so brightly that he had to
put a veil over his face so that people could even come near him (Exod
34:29-35)49. This "bright light" was called by later Jews the
"Shekinah" —
the "dwelling of God." It was so bright that it was impossible
for humans to
look at it, and in the time of Moses, God had to subdue its manifestation
within a thick cloud (Exod 19:16). It hid the Israelites from the pursuing
Egyptians during the day and lighted the way at night for Israel in their
march through the wilderness (Exod 13:21; 14:19-20). To the Egyptians it was
a cloud of darkness, but to Israel a cloud of light. When God spoke to
Moses, this thick cloud covered all of Mount Sinai (Exod 24:15-18). The
purpose of the cloud was to subdue the strong brightness of the Shekinah
Glory of God."
"49. This brightness of Moses’ face was the result of being in the presence
of God. In the story of Adam and Eve it is apparent that they were clothed
in the glory of their maker and their bodies glowed brightly until they
sinned. It would appear from the story that their sin stripped them of the
cloak of God’s radiant covering, and this is why they suddenly felt naked
and needed to seek some other covering to hide their shame."
