I don't know if MSAV would have found it, but McAfee with up to date
files would have. Glad AVP was able to shank it.

FDISK /MBR rebuilds the master boot record of a hard drive. It is
usually suggested after a boot record virus is found and cleaned. However,
I have only run it twice in the 16 years I have worked with PC's, and both
times it was for non-virus related incidents. If the machine appears to
be running fine and you have not lost any files then I would not worry
about FDISK /MBR.
