Mr Rice has, in fact, presented nothing that would even qualify as
data. And your comments were entirely apt. IF his little jaunt to
a prison had been written up for a soc. journal, they would have laughed
all day: 'investigator' with prior beliefs gets impressions,
{not even a number {S's} mentioned} that support his views.
But I chose not to get into MR. Rice's sociology. It's rather trite:
in a nominallly Christian country, most prisoners probably are
"Christian" {undefined}; so are most streetsweepers, roofers, and
axe-murderers. What's the big deal?
It's {I bet} also true that Episcopalians are underrepresented
in prisons. Again, the question is "What would this {if true}
mean?"
