Hi Tim,
TD> Yes it is, very often I need to take a look at my last one in order
TD> remember HOW I felt... That night it quit working....
I was at a meeting this morning, and someone that felt like drinking
threw it out for a possible topic. Man did the insanity hit me. Why is
it that so many of us don't feel comfortable unless we're beating
ourselves up? I guess we get to feeling a certain way all our lives,
and it's the only thing we know. We have to make a firm effort to
change and grow in the fellowship, which ain't always easy. I don't
know about you, but I kick & scream before I finally get willing to
welcome change!
TD> I know that feeling, I was going to meetings for at least two and a
TD> months at that time and the final bout matched all the symtoms of
TD> alcoholism....
I think it was about the same for me. I was in detox for drug
addiction, and the shakes & withdrawal were not deniable.
But, after going back to booze to ease the shakes & put something in my
mouth to feel better, I realized that I had a dual addiction going on.
Was a pattern for me over the years. When I got sick of one, I'd swear
off it, then I'd have a hassle with the other one, and go back and forth
between substances.
Don't drink & go to meetings!
