| subject: | patching DeScribe FF upgrade |
I recently paid to receive the DeScribe Frequent Flyer Upgrade to the Voyager CD only to find that the upgrade will not function on a ZipStream compressed drive as the prior release does. I have attempted to get a response from DeScribe on correcting this, but they refuse to correct it. Has anyone here run into the same situation and developed a patch to deal with it? I'm not a PC programmer, but if no one else has done so or is willing to do so I will attempt to track this down myself if someone can point me to freeware/shareware/trialware appropriate to such debugging. The FFU apears to perform some sort of query about the type of drive it is executing from and returning an error if it detects what it thinks to be a network drive. I suspect the patch to correct this will be to replace the code section testing the results of this test with NOPS. Can anyone here help in this matter? Once it is accomplished I intend to provide the results to DeScribe to be made available as a fix to the FFU.
