| subject: | Re: Can you love God and not study the Bible? |
I think that limited access to the Bible did limit people's relationship to God, and also tended to limit the moves of the Holy Spirit, because so many churches used the lack of Bible reading to impose doctrines of their own making upon their congregations. People ended up following these man-made doctrines on the same level as the Word of God, which may have limited the depth of their relationship with Him and the working of his Spirit in their lives. However, His Word tells us that he will write his Law on our hearts, so His Spirit and His grace will still give guidance to those who do not or did not have access to the Bible, but it is so much better to be ablke to read His words for ourselves, and to study them so that we can have a more personal faith and relationship with our God and Savior. -- All roads lead to another road.
