| subject: | Re: How to submit (1 Pe 3:1-6) |
>However, what if the husband tells his wife not to >tithe and the wife >feel that God's will for her is that she must tithe. >Whose will should >she follow? Should she disobey her husband The bible also says submit to the "higher authorites" If the wife is a beleiver and the husband is an unbeliever, even though, she has the office of wife, she (at that point) IS the higher authority. However, attitude is everything. The word says "let the husbands be won over by her "winsome attitude" or "her manner". There is a way you handle things that shows you heart intent of submission and respect. With men it's about repesct and with women it's about love. As a woman, if you truly love and care deeply about me, there isn't anything I won't do for you. For a man, it seems the same. If he has to admiration and repsect of a women, he is raises to a higher level in strength and confidence. So, how I would handle such a thing (although i would never marry an unbeleiver) is to explain completely what the bible says concerning tihing and offering, stress it's importance to me as a person and make clear that what I do is in obeying the Spirit not disobeying the husband. Dig my feet in, pray hard and be pleasant as possible to man I commited to before God and man. ((( s.r.c.b-s is a moderated group.
