Never tried it so no -> idea if it'd work but wouldn't the stranded cable tend to _wick_ -> the warmed light grease? I doubt the sofetned grease would penetrate the Jacket, it may have a teflon liner, and the Ends have a neopreme seal typicaly that would prevent too much entry from the ends.
