subject: OS/2 to DOS & Win95

Hello Steven,
Replying to a message of Steven Cox to All:

Hopefully the OS/2 machine is running at least Warp 3 Connect or Warp 4. If
you use the right setups for the domain name / workgroup name (keep it simple
and short, and the same on all machines) and workstation names (simple,
short, and different on all machines) then the Win95 box can talk to the OS/2
box easily using Netbeui/Netbios.
As for the DOS box - you will have to get some networking software for it.
The little known Microsoft Workgroups for DOS will work. The IBM DOS Lan
client software (only available if you have Warp Server or IBM LAN Server
installed somewhere) will also work. If you buy the IBM DOS Lan client
package from IBM, all you will get is a license since it is assumed that you
already have the IBM server product and the DOS LAN client software that
comes with it. Lantastic for DOS will also likely work however I can not
give you specific details since I have not used Lantastic.
Regards, Alec
