Sometimes we need our tree shaken to unlearn what we know now was wrong.
There used to be only 8 planets. The extent of the known universe was
only up to the limits of our galaxy. Mars still had canals.
I do well empathize that everyone's beliefs are being upturned by rapid
advances in technology but such change is a fact of modern times. A mere
50 years ago steam power was on its sunset days. Today's kids know it
only from seeing it in a museum. They find those old machines quaint.
The keys to success in the 21'st century is accepting, embracing, and
adapting to advances in technology. Frankly, to ignore change, for
whatever reason, is surely the last thing for anyone to do and I must
admit the reality is, it will likely get harder to keep pace tomorrow.

p.s. I'm quite ignorant of all diplomatic goings ons in this public forum.
Please answer my dumb question: Are you or Jim the moderators?
In any case, if I offended anyone, I heartily assure you it was
not maliciously but in a spirit of good humour and friendliness.
