You mean before he added the 400+ pages for the new release of the book or
even after that? 'Cause the new release doesn't change the ending in any way,
IMO.

I really like the idea of reading about one or two people who are completely
alone in a huge city like New York. Well not entirely alone. A few million
corpses are there, too. Larry's walk through Holland Tunnel was one scary
event in the book. That's why the book and the mini-series were at their best
in the beginning. When they settle in the FreeZone and start fighting The
Dark Man (The Black Man?), that whole concept disappears, though. :(

As I said before, It will always be the best novel of his in my opinion.
