DM> NP: Barclay James Harvest _Alone We Fly_
 KN> What's this one like?
D>Not bad. My recollection of the band from the early 70's (never
D>heard much) was "highly bland". This is a collection from '74 into
D>the '80's and I like it okay. Surprisingly I like the live stuff
D>best, probably because it has the most mellotron and is also the oldest.
I've owned most of their albums through the late 70's at one time or another,
and I wouldn't call them bland, at least not all the time. They alternated
between intense, proggy numbers and weak straight-ahead numbers, and were
very uneven. Wildly uneven. The _Live_ album, and the _Live Tapes_ album,
were the only really consistent things they ever did, and are both brilliant
prog albums a la Camel, Genesis, Moody Blues, and other "classic" English
prog bands.
They had some great studio albums, but none without flaws. They kinda bit
the big one by the 80's, though they remained wildly popular at least in
Germany until late in the 80's...last I heard.

D>>>Are they made from REAL Girl Scouts?
That is sick and disgusting, and I've copied it to my tagline file, so don't
be surprised if you see it again someday.
