GM Ed,
EV> Today we got snow and the high temperature(sp?) got up to 17F.
Congratulations!! 17øF is -8.3øC.
EV> So I thought to see how the WX was around Your QTH.
Winter here seems to have taken a holiday. We have seen snow on the
ground sometimes even to the extent of covering the grass in white.
A couple of days later the temperature rises to 3ø to 5øC and all the
white stuff melts away again.
OTOH, that is included into the 11-year sunspot cycle. 1992 we did also
have a winter like this to the extent that I took my GS along and went
to eastern Finland when the schools had their winter holiday so that we
could enjoy skiing. Counting in 11-year steps this (2015) year falls
nicely into the scheme.
The same goes for the cold winters with up to knee high snow. The last
two such winters were 2010/2011 so the next ones will be 2021/2022.
Before that we will of course have normal winters with about 4 to 10" of
of snow which is enough to ski on.
EV> 32F there is warmer than our 17F with a few inches of snow.
Well, 32øF is warmer than 17øF everywhere with or without snow.
CU AGN,
Holger
