subject: It gets better

Bullshit you have. You have in fact been proclaiming that USR/USR
is much better on poor lines. Proclaimed that you had proof with
the handshaking failures to Pauls M34F, ended up face down in the
mud in the MOST spectacular fashion WHEN A FUCKING M34F PAIR ON
THAT LINE WORKED JUST AS WELL AS A USR PAIR WHEN YOU ALLOW FOR
THE FACT THAT THE M34F DOESNT CLAIM TO DO BETTER THAN 28800.

Hilarious that your rabid zealotry about USRs STILL prevents you from
even grasping that a pair of M34Fs do fine on that line from you to
Paul, AND that the USR just had a wart in its code which USR eventually
got around to fixing on the handshaking problem when calling an M34F.

Wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if Paul put another
Thunder online, that you dont now even get handshaking
failures to it with the new Sportster V34+ rom either.

BG> during which time I've repeatedly been insulted and called a USR zealot,

The evidence was so obvious, and is again |-)

BG> yet now the penny's dropped,

Fraid not, I STILL maintain that you dont actually have a SHRED of
evidence that a USR pair does better on your calls to Paul when you
allow for the fact that the M34F doesnt even claim to do more than 28800.

BG> he thinks he's discovered this all by himself.

Its dead easy to pick zealotry Bill, stands out like dogs balls |-)
