| subject: | USR 28.8 Modems |
Clinton, at 13:03 on Mar 20 1996, you wrote to Paul Edwards ... CP> Paul I have sort of been following the conversations in here CP> and noticed that you had been having trouble with them(I CP> think) . Could you please give me some info about what type CP> of USR the modem was/is and what trouble you where having CP> with it . If I have got my wires crossed then ignore this CP> message . Any info would be much appreciated. Paul's major problem with the USR Courier that he borrowed was that it wasn't Rockwell based, therefore it didn't behave exactly as a Rockwell based modem did. Some of his downlinks use pre-historic modems too which seemed to disagree with the Courier. I use a Courier here (with a Sportster as a backup). I have no complaints regarding their performance at all.
