AA>I may have missed your very first posting on this thread, but where
AA>did you get the impression that HTML was supported, BTW? I am
AA>looking through a special catalog from Misco that describes a variety
AA>of Corel products. According to the catalog, WP Suite 8 contains
AA>"comprehensive HTML support" including Barista 2.0. I think the WP7
AA>Suite does too. But the modest descriptions for WP 6.2 do not
AA>mention anything about HTML.
I got that impression from reading an ad that included various versions of
WP; obviously, I was mistaken.
AA>If you truly need some kind of HTML support, there are many 3rd party
AA>or shareware products that should do the trick. No need to agonize
AA>over the WP purchase.
Could you name one, please? I looked through a large, recent shareware
listing but couldn't find anything. I got one program that will let me import
text into HTML, but I would lose all the fonts and formatting of WP.
AA>Is that the same Tiger people that put together PCs? I have a couple
AA>of machines from them. Nice collection of hardware.
AA>Companies seem to have rather strict software return policies. As a
AA>registered user of WP, maybe you should just take your concern
AA>straight to WP (or would that be Corel now?) I've delt with the
AA>those folks (when WP was in still the hands of Novell) and found them
AA>to be very helpful when I needed an update to fix a font problem. And
AA>then of course I had access to all thos wonderful 1-800 numbers. It
AA>seems that Corel has completely done away with 1-800 services and
AA>charges per every "instance".
I called Corel, but they wouldn't take it back because I didn't buy it from
them. And, as you suggest, Tiger has a policy (spelled out in fine print in
their catalog) of not taking back ANY software.
So what the hey, I've gotten much more than my money's worth out of
WordPerfect over the years.
