you recall correctly. My husband says please don't even think
about opening it up, as every CRT (cathode ray tube) is made
with a vaccum inside. (That is probably why they are called
"vaccum tubes"! :) It would first implode, then *explode*!
(And you would almost certainly end up with, at least, several
"boo-boos" :(
