This message was from Joe Frankiewicz to Bill Grimsley
originally in conference USR_Modems

BG> One could be forgiven for thinking so, but considering that
BG> ALL of the Rockwell V.34s tested returned almost identical line

BG> now is, how much faith can we place in the USR's line stats?
JF> They're pretty reliable.
Precision science there Bill. Notice he doesnt actually
say if he has actually TRIED a call over the same lines
with a USR and then a non USR on the SAME line.
JF> What is the DSP date on the USR, and what are
JF> the version numbers from the rockwell chipsets?
Absolutely classic fob off, make the person asking the question
run around collecting completely fucking useless info.
Tell the prick to get of his arse and TRY it for
himself. THEN, *IF* he cant reproduce the effect,
it might make some sense to check version numbers.
Pathetic.
