Correction, should say I didn't notice it in BTPE.  I looked up
the code you quoted, and it looks like I've changed the 50 to 80.
But either way...

... it is 50 characters per LINE.  The lines in question are well
below 50 characters.  And even if they weren't, it wouldn't matter
either, you'd just get the first 50 characters, just like fgets().
