what you've described are symptoms (possibly virus symptoms)...
the problem is that it's next to impossible to identify a virus just by
the symptoms, that's what anti-virus programs are for..
get a good scanner (f-prot, avp, findvirus, etc) and use that to
determine whether or not you have a virus...
