sounds like it needs a good cleaning... have you used list.com to look in
the IE temp files folder after telling the system to perform "clean
up" that supposedly removes all temp internet files?  and don't forget
the temp directory, too... and i'm sure that the registry needs cleaning,
as well ;)

i won't even go into the drivers and such that are being used that may be
buggy and toasting the box... but i will mention that they may have less
buggy updates that may be upgraded to...
