Sounds like the DS settings (jumpers) on the drive are set incorrectly; they 
need to be set sperately, eg, DS0 and DS1 or DS1 and DS2 (depends on the 
drive(s); check the docs).
Further considerations that may have to be taken into account:
Also you should make sure that your A: drive is at the end of the floppy 
cable and has a terminating resistor installed (it already should have).  
Drive B should be in the middle with the terminating resistor removed.

Didn't by any chance have the B: drive select on in the BIOS at the time, did 
you?
