VOTE FOR ROY INNES FOR NRA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
-------------------------------------------------------------------
New York, NY
Roy Innis is the National Chairman of the Congress of Racial
Equality, CORE. Innis, born in the U.S. Virgin Islands, attended
the public schools of New York City, including Stuyvesant High
School, and after a tour of duty in the U.S. Army during the Korean
War, attended the City College of New York, majoring in chemistry.
After positions in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and
while employed at Montefiore Hospital in medical research, Innis
officially joined the Harlem Chapter of CORE in 1963. In 1967 Innis
became the first Ford Foundation Fellow at the Metropolitan Applied
Research Center (MARC). In 1968 Innis was elected the National
Leader of CORE. Losing two sons to urban gun violence has
dramatically influenced Innis' views on crime and victims' rights.
Since then, he has become one the most vocal and active advocates
of Second Amendment rights, especially the decent citizen's right of
self defense.
