NH> Hello, you wrote to someone about concentrating at DL on the things

NH> 1) Carousel of Progress...Which is Def. at WDW...or is it
NH> different?
Oooops!! Got that backwards. Sorry.
"The Carousel of Progress" *is* at WDW. The building that housed it at
DL was converted to "America Sings" (which I didn't like nearly as
much). On my last visit, the building was not open. I can only hope that
a new show is comming. Rumor has it that something akin to
"Innoventions" may be staged there, but with significant differences.
Note that I said RUMOR!
NH> 2) Toontown....maybe not the same but opening at WDW in June
Oh goody! "Mickey's Starland" was a pale second to Toontown. I'll look
forward to see what differences develop.
NH> 3) Disney Gallery...isn't there one at WDW?? Or am I thinking of The
NH> Village Marketplace?? or is it a totally different thing?
It's a totally different thing. "The Disney Gallery" is a suite of rooms
upstairs above "Pirates of the Caribbean" (not far from Club 33).
Originally intended as an apartment and meeting space for Walt Disney
(to replace his very small apartment upstairs over the firehouse), it
lay vacant for years after his death.
It has now been opened, with some of the original furnishings, as a
gallery for the display of both artwork for sale and for original
artwork, character models, dioramas, and engineering models from the
development of the Disney parks, most from Disney Imagineering archives.
The information ranges from "everybody knows that" to "I can't believe
they even thought of trying that!"
It's often a quiet place to get away from crowds (except in the evening
near "Fantasmic" time), as very few will take the time to view the
displays and read the captions. There is also a small courtyard with a
couple of tables and chairs for weary feet.
NH> Not questioning your answer but just questioning :)
Both seem justified--certainly no offence taken. I had written that post
strictly from memory--which is never a good idea, and is a particularly
bad idea when writing after midnight. Please, keep me honest here.
