Hello Thurston -

TA> Would SKS please refreash my fragmented memory of how to

TA> work a .iso file (like "KNOPPIX_v3.3-2003-11-03-EN.iso")
TA> into a CD to boot up the KNOPPIX linux O/S on my PC please?

The KNOPPIX CD is bootable if the ISO image is written to the
CD _as_an_ISO_image_ and not as a data file. If your PC is one
that cannot boot from the CD drive then there is a floopy image
file to create a 'boot floppy' for KNOPPIX that you can find on
the KNOPPIX CD once the ISO image is moved onto the a CD. The
exact location (what directory) the floopy image is in I can't
recall but it's probably mentioned at the linked page from the
main KNOPPIX webpage (the main page is just a 'rant' against
copyrights). :-)

I use NERO here myself. There is an option to use an ISO image
file to burn to a CD. You _must_ specify that it is an ISO image
or you will get a transfer of one huge data file to the CD and
that isn't what you want.
