Both IBM and MS produced unofficial docs on DosPTrace(),  but I can't find
either of them.

Are you trying to write a debugger?  That is the only thing it is good for;
 and it is not 100% stable under OS/2 2.x (Since it was replaced with the
new DosDebug() api).

I can tell you this -- it took me a week to get DosPTrace() working in a
rudimentary debugger I wrote a few years ago.  DosDebug() is a little
easier,  but it too is not for the fainthearted.
