| subject: | Any idea`s for `Folding` in EPM? |
hello.
do some (or one or maybe none :-/) of you have any hot ideas of how to
implement a folding feature into epm?
studying the epm tech manual gave me no real good hint of how to implement
such in epm...
at first i thought that there is something like 'defdisplay' which could
be hooked in before every single line is displayed in order to make the
appropiate changes, but i did find nothing similar...
now i ended up with two (rather fuzzy) ideas:
1.) storing lines that are to be folded into arrays
2.) making a dll which would provide appropiate functions (not my
favourite, because of the programing overhead for the dll: i'm a poor
c/c++ beginner)
maybe you can help me with any better idea?
thank you in advance...
ps: i like syntax highlighting, but i think folding is much more powerful
(i did program on my amiga (rip :-) in gfa-basic which had this feature
implemented in it's editor: even though no "nested" folding was possible
the gained advantages in clearness and "handability" of source code were
overwhelming, much more than syntax highlighting...that's why i'm so keen
on it (-: bye bye
