Not in the least.  They are eliminated per the show where Bart and 
Milhouse follow their True Love to Canada.  McBaine's daughter was 
making a film in Montreal, IIRC.  

And, don't forget the other episodes where Bart disses not just 
the local folks but their entire countries and even continents.  
The Australian show seems to be the classic on that.  

On last count, only Antartica is sort of free of the Simpsons influence.  
I say that way because the Penguin Navy was involved in the surrender of 
the sub that Homer was his command of the vessel.
