Remember how we were discussing what happens if you call
straight after someone else, what happens is that my system
exits after receiving mail, takes the phone off hook (but
doesn't answer it), which means you can get a dud call. I
could make my system not go off-hook after mail, but what
that means is it just rings and rings, unless my system
starts up again while you're ringing, answers the phone,
but by then it's too late, and your end times out without
connection.

One solution to this problem would be for me to go back to my
old method, and you guys all setting your modems to expire
after about 3 minutes or something, whatever it is before
Telecom gives up on your behalf.

Depends how often you get the current problem. So far I only
know Bill got it once.

BFN. Paul.
