Thanks Allen, but I found out that the debug kernel is only used to debug
device drivers. If I use it it sends data to COM2, which prevents me from
using my modem. The solution is actually much simpler: following a
suggestion from a post in CIS I installed the Serviceability and Diagnostic
Aids and was able to debug my programs since then.
