Hi Klaus,

(Thursday October 08 1998 08:04) Klaus Meinhard to Ted Menks about: Back in business!

TM>> At least, I've managed to make the thing boot like a normal
TM>> DOS-machine, with almost ALL the gadgets I'm used to. When I type WIN
TM>> at the prompt, Win95 comes up. And when I shut Win95 down, I'm left at
TM>> the prompt again. So far, so good!
 KM> Good for you!

Right! :-)

TM>> as soon as programs start looking for the EMM386 driver (usually
TM>> EMMXXX), they don't find it, since the dreaded Panes rename it in
TM>> memory... Well it's not 4Dos-related, so why do I even bother
 TM>> mentioning it? :-)
KM> Which progs? Why do they look?

The prog is a DOS-extender, named GO32.exe (which is needed by one of the
programs I run in a box)

Here's the result:

c:ut>go32
CPU must be in REAL mode (not V86 mode) to run this program without VCPI.
(If you are using an EMS emulator, make sure that EMS isn't disabled)

c:\ut>

I'm not sure how to proceed on this one!

KM> Or do you simply want to loadhigh a prog? Then must have the line
 KM> "LocalLoadHigh=1" in the [386ENH] section of your system.ini.

that line already exists ;-)

KM> Try working with 2 or 3 DOS "panes" at once, and you'll be happier
KM> than ever (there may be exceptions caused by IRC ;-) )

I'm not sure if that makes me happy. Just ONE box will do, providing it
also allows the use of GO32.exe ;-)

Random greetings,
