        At least for the very reasons you cite it should be of 
        interest to many proggers. 
 
         Chris Cutler loves that album, _Smiley Smile_, including 
         it on his list of recommended records. And it was 
         probably what led Faust to put "We love the Beach Boys!" 
         on their first album (which scared me away from buying 
         it for about 6 months).
