i have a question,  how can u know if an item is selected just if u
know the caption, the item could have any index.

i ma asking this because i have a button remove item and a label where
the total cost is stored. when i press remove item, it removes the
item but it doesn't remove the cost of the item from the total cost. u
also know the cost.

i the arthimatival solution but i cannot transform it into vb.

i think the solution is that u have to say if which ever list index is
selected and the caption of the index is equal to dog then u will take
of $100 from the total(which is stored in a label.

please include comments and code. tell me if my solution is right
