Mike, because of your job all you see is the bad side of people. I
think you don't get the point here. "Fabric of Society" eh? Who's
society. Boy! If its not Good Ol' USofA Perfect Example there's
something wrong with it. It is your/our society causing the damage.
The criminals... lock 'em up. This maggot encrusted food you speak
of... why were some people desperate enough to save maggot encrusted
food. I'd imagine if the dumpster diving were so bleak, I'd be driven
to take extreme measures in order to survive also.
Mike, you're a cold man. I think its the way you approach your job.
You see the worst of people every day, because of it. It appears it
has colored your judgement and ability to be fair. Maybe you should
just take a few days off and go fishing, with a non LEO, to get your
perspective back.
I'm one of those people, Mike. I crawled out without any help from
your social programs... on my terms... without the fabric of your
overpaid "counselors" manulipulating my life as to the needs of the
accounting department and policical expediency.
I didn't do it without a small break, around 30 years ago. It led to
something better; then things progressed. For the last decade and
more I made and average of 25-30K a year. Many of my friends have
done the same... also without being "greased" up the wazoo by your
system... don't say its mine!
There's other ways to do things, Mike. Honorable ways.
