subject: Can MD data deteriorate?

Hi.

I might be mailing this to the wrong place, but
for those of you who know something about MiniDiscs,
can you please enlighten me on this...

Is data on an MD prone to deterioration over time?
(My friend told me that the duratbility of data on MD is
somewhere between an audio cassette tape and a CD...)

Can data be written onto MDs for an infinite number of times?
Or is it that after a certain number of writes,
data can no longer be written to the disc,
or after a certain number of writes, data accuracy deteriorates?

  Thanx in advance.

Regards,
