Boy, I heard THAT!
Y'know, I wonder how many people remember the Chrysler proof of concept
car of 1953-54?  It ran, pulled itself quite admirably. Got about 8
miles per gallon during a time when the V-8s were getting 16+ kicked
their butts soundly on smoothness and accelleration, but ROASTED the car
following too close, and the exhaust was just not practical to deal with
in traffic.
T'wasn't a bad concept at all, except for a couple of insurmountable
problems.
