Hello Andy,

I don't believe I asked in my earlier message, what class are you
taking where this is a problem?

AT> career hangs in the balence is because i am an immigrant and the vis
AT> that i am on does not allow i-students to fail classes. :(

Thanks for clarifying that, many times students will over-dramatize
the situation (if the world ended a fraction of the times one of my
daughters thought it would, we would have been looking for a new planet
eons ago) ;) Actually some of my students are in a similar situation,
as I teach Air Force ROTC, if the students don't maintain the required
academic standards they are in jeopardy of 1) losing a scholarship or
2) being removed from the program and naturally if the grades are low
enough, they would face academic probation from the university.

Interesting to note the average GPA for a new freshman at our
university is something like 1.81 on a 4.00 scale -- I thing our
freshmen cadets average just a little over 3.00 comparatively. Many of
my university students that I'd advise (I have about 25 or so advisees)
are currently on academic probation...GPAs in the 1.50 to 1.75 range.

AT> well what did santa bring you for christmas?
AT> and did you have a good christmas?

Yes we enjoyed a very nice Christmas thanks, albeit a cold one: -30F in
Fargo on Christmas day. As I look out the window it's snowing...again,
we're supposed to get another 8 or so inches today. We've already had
48" to date this winter with about half of that still on the ground.
Hope you enjoyed your holidays.

Regards,

   Dale
