I had Compuserve's comm software and their Net Launcher, which had a
(large) Winsock .DLL and a copy of a modified NCSA Mosaic installed.
I _think_ that was before the upgrade.  That was on an older 486
motherboard, AMI chipset, with a DX2/66.  Low memory was a nightmare,
and upper memory was filled with all manner of disk caches and stuff.
 
now I have 36 megs so I don't have any problems at all.  (:
