Hey, back in the 20's we had what they called "Surfboards". I suppose the
proper name for them was Aquaplanes. They were pulled behind a Speed
Boat. The rider would stand on the board and hold the rope bridal to
stay on it. Turns were made by leaning one way or the other. I was
taught to ride one of them on my dad's shoulders when I was 18 months
old. By the age of 2 1/2 years I was riding that sucker by myself.
I had to wear a Kapok Life vest but I rode that sucker believe you
me. My Mother took pictures of me doing so with her Brownie Box Camera.
