Ok, got mixed up in my mind... When you said "When you do this," I was
thinking of the findfirst not the DOSfindfirst.
Actually, the reason why they MIGHT have coded it in the C runtime could
be for speed.

Good point... Very good point. Write your own, make it work with YOUR
compilers, and you're set!
