Hello Bill,
Replying to a message of Bill Hliwa to Alec Herrmann:

BH> The Win95 box had a workgroup name of just 'medtechnet'. I changed

The TCP/IP host names and domain names have nothing to do with the NETBEUI
(actually NETBIOS) names in the Windows Workgroup machine and workgroup
mes.
To make things simple, I would concentrate on only getting the NETBIOS
interfaces working correctly and then move on to the TCP/IP configurations.
Look in \IBMLAN\IBMLAN.INI onthe OS/2 box for the following (yours may look
different):
[requester]
COMPUTERNAME = HERM1
DOMAIN = BYTEWYND
The domain name should match the workgroup name on the Windows box. The
COMPUTERNAME should be different than the machine name on the Windows box.
BH> Maybe my netbios is no setup properly. When I open MPTS, and click
BH> Configure, NETBIOS is listed and status is: configured. If I click
BH> the button in front of NETBIOS the configure button is dimmed.
BH> Am I approaching NETBIOS configuration incorrectly?
On the OS/2 box, what is the result of the 'NET STATUS' command (just the
first 10 lines or so), the 'NET START' command, the 'NET SHARE' command, and
the 'NET VIEW' command?
Regards, Alec
