If he is so bad, why would the Braves think they could get something for him?
His job was to replace Justice LAST year. Surely even YOU don't think he
could
replace him permanently.
And this is the first time I've heard that Dye was being shopped around. It
wouldn't surprise me, though. So are McGriff and Lemke, and Justice himself
would have been gone had the Braves won the Series.

Maddox was indeed the best in '95, but not as good as Smoltz in '96. Neagle
was (17-14)?, mostly with the Pirates who were going nowhere soon and very
fast, and his first three games with the Braves, he left the game with leads,
only to lose to the bullpen. Nomo was not much better, even though he pitched
for a team that made the playoffs and included Todd Hollingsworth:) And
everyone knows LA will place high on EVERY voter's list because of the hype.
If not for the glamour, they wouldn't get half the awards they get, if you
ask
me.

And judging by Shuerholtz' actions lately, it will be their only one this
decade.
