Well I doubt Microcom would muck up their own protocol. Also I should
be able to disable MNP10 at my end by using at-k0 but all that results
in is the modem failing to ever connect so I have to disable it by forcing
a V.42 connect which means I cant connect to your modem with just MNP4 which
I should be able to do.

I've being using MNP10/V42BIS for almost every call to you and afterconn
ever since I found some undocumented commands in the Microcom rom code.

No. But finding the place in the logs was easy as I stopped using afterconn
after that call. The clock in my computer is completely stuffed. The only
thing reliable it does is move forward.

Well I've never realy had a failed call. Most calls fail during the call.
The best connect I've had to the netcom is 24.0 which often during the call
drops to 19.2kps. Also I often get retrains during the call that take 20-40
seconds and unless I connect with MNP10 the retrains seem to be ignored by
the netcomm, well at least the speed doesn't change on the display. The last
thing is with the USR I got 28.8kps most times with the occasional 26.4kps
never getting any retrains.
