RW> Really? The officer is paid by the school board like a teacher or
RW> janitor? Nope. His pay comes from the PD which gets the money from
RW> the city budget which makes him a city employee.
TR> Rich, you are standing in the forrest, but you can't see the
TR> trees. Yes, many officers are paid by the school system,
TR> not by the police department. There are school systems
TR> across the U.S. which have hired off-duty officers to work
TR> in schools, and they are paid by the school system, not by
TR> the police department. If you had read and understood
TR> previous messages, you would understand there are some
TR> officers who work in schools that are paid by the police
TR> department and some who work in schools that are paid by the
TR> school system. I guess you see only what you wish to see
TR> and you ignore the rest.
No I only have the knowledge that I have. From
everything I had read before the Police were placed in
the school at the direction of the CoP at the request
of the school board and these officers were taken from
street patrol. I have also had read was that some
school systems hire a security company to provide
guards via a contract and these companies some times
hire police to work when off duty. And the third thing
was that some school systems hire security guards
themselves.
Now there are at least three different types of people
guarding the school. Cops that are paid by the PD and
employees of the PD, non-LEOs and maybe LEOs who are
contracted employees of a third party and LEOs who are
employees of the school system. Now I'm willing to bet
that there are more systems out there that I have no
idea about and therefore can't see nor ignore anything
about them.
One other thing, you have to realize that there is a
delay, some times several days, from the time you send
a msg and I read it. I could post half a dozen msg
between the time you write a msg and the time I read
it.
TR> misdemeanor criminal offenses that have to be committed in the
TR> presence of a police officer before the officer can file
RW> Hum. . .so if I commit a misdemeanor in front of 30 people I can get
RW> away with it as long as none of them are a cop? WOW!! You and I
RW> both know that's a load of fecal matter. If a teacher sees a crime
RW> and reports it to the cop the cop HAS to take action.
TR> You really need to read and try to understand before you
TR> jump off the deep end in your own load of fecal matter. If
.. . .
I guess I should have put;
before and after.
Maybe then you would have caught it. . .
