You should look for the "customized EPM" package from the EPM guys.  Look
for file CSTEPM.ZIP at watson.ibm.com or ftp-os2.cdrom.com or CompuServe.
This has code folding (source and .EX).  The method they use is to change
the font of the folded code to be microscopic.  This has its drawbacks, as
your cursor can get "lost" in the folded code.  Another idea I had was to
move folded code to an invisible file (or, as you say, an array).  This
means you have to hook into defsave, though.
