Hello all...
I am a ProgRock devotee from way back when... I just haven't visited
this echo in ages... I have my own collection of Yes, Genesis, Rush,
etc... records and love them to death. I don't know quite what are
the boundaries of this echo, but I will make a stab and see if I get
"stuck"... :-)
I absolutely love the music of Joni Mitchell and have quite a few of
her albums... Her sense of timing and dynamics I feel were second to
none, along with her wonderful lyrics. We now have some of her songs
playing in the background on the "muzac" system at where I work.
Everytime I hear her voice I just have to stop and take in the whole
song... It's awe inspiring to me.
I heard rumor awhile back that she died. Can anyone confirm this? I
could never find a news story on it and at this point I don't believe
it. A little light shedding is in order here.
I hopped back and forth between Prog rock and Jazz fusion depending on
my mood. I thought Joni was a pretty good blend of both as in Steely
Dan... Steely Dan... that's a whole nother subject and a concoction of
musicians and music that will live inside me forever... Songs like
Deacon Blues should be bronzed.
