Annoying Test Message Alert!!!

Mail flow to/from net2401 from/to the rest of the world has trickled to a
stop for the second time in less than as many months. I spoke to a couple
of our local FidoGods a while back & was assured the problem wasn't local.
OK, fine... It's time to get the attention of whomever is either storing
all in/out-bound echomail or doing a pitiful job editing his/her route
files (for the latter, /NIL is _not_ an option).

Today (May 2nd, 1998), I am manually posting this test message in _every
single_ non-local conference carried by TimeShare Data Systems (a few
London area ones & several International ones). I will then impatiently
wait one week for replies (or policy complaints citing me for premeditated
excessively annoying behaviour).

In one week (May 9th, 1998) I will set my autopost robot to post a
derivative of this message _daily_ in all conferences containing no
replies.

A week after that (May 16th, 1998) the robot goes into high gear... All
reply-less conferences will get an infinite supply of _hourly_ posts
until:
 - I am excommunicated from FidoNet,
 - the system storing echomail instead of sending it crashes due to lack
of disk space (KA-BOOM! So sad...), or
 - I receive a reply.

In case you haven't figured it out, I'm underwhelmed by the apathy &/or
overall ineptitude of the current echomail "storage" (formerly
"transport") mechanism & have come to two conclusions:
 - I'm not impressed,
 - I have absolutely nothing to lose (after all, nothing from nothing is
   nothing).

Why am I doing this, you ask? Simple. I joined FidoNet several years ago
for the ability to hold conversations with people whom I share common
interests. While I expect the the odd glitch now & again (this _is_ a
hobby network), I flatly refuse to sit back & take it for weeks on end.
After all, how am I to carry on my half of a conversation when one or the
other side of (nowadays, all) conversations never reach the intended
recipient(s)? A more blantant form of censorship I cannot imagine. So...
since playing by the rules doesn't appear to get results, it's time to do
some creative grand-standing.
