| subject: | Querying country info |
Hallo Peter!
PH> Could somebody please give me a little hint on querying the country
PH> information that can be specified under System Setup|Country|Date?
These settings are saved in the OS/2 INI files. The Toolkit documentation
lists all settings, their data types and where they are saved. Use the Prf
APIs to read the settings from the INI files.
PH> Unfortunately, DosQueryCtrlInfo() returns a date format
PH> of "mm-dd-yy" which is not what I have programmed
("yy/mm/dd").
The settings returned by DosQueryCtryInfo are hard-coded in COUNTRY.SYS.
My suggestion is:
For text mode programs, use the infos from COUNTRY.SYS. For PM apps, first
try to read the settings in OS2.INI, and if not found, use the settings in
COUNTRY.SYS.
Servus, Michael.
